programmes:
M.A. in Development Studies:
This two year MA programme in Development Studies
enables students to address the challenges of development and
public policy in developing societies. This inter-disciplinary
programme is based on the foundations provided by sociology,
political science and economics, and draws upon expertise from
the discipline of social work, rural management as well as
practical learning from the civil services and non-government
organizations. The course includes eleven taught courses - eight
core courses and three elective courses of 4 credits each. The

M.A. in Environment & Development: This two
year MA programme in Environment and Development will equip
students to address the challenges related to the environment as
it centrally impacts our approach towards development. This is
an interdisciplinary programme that is based on social sciences
but will provide the students with a perspective based on an
informed understanding of the natural sciences. It includes
eleven taught courses: nine core courses and two elective
courses of 4 credits each. The programme also includes research

M.A. in Clinical & Psychosocial Studies:
This programme combines the understanding of the inner forces of
the psyche with the structural and political processes that
intermingle in the formation of human subjectivity. Students
will be provided an understanding of theories and practices from
Psychoanalysis, Critical Psychology, Gender Studies, Disability
Studies and Engaged Spiritual perspectives. These orientations
will open the prospective psychologist to greater self awareness
and empathy towards others while enabling students to understand
processes of social marginalization and exclusion. This MA
programme comprises 12 taught courses, and courses which are
transacted through seminars, workshops, practicum, project work
