About the Seminar

FDI in retail has been a debated issue. Views of stakeholders are sharply divided about its welfare implications in the country. This would be one of the important election issues; manifestos of political parties would discuss this prominently. In this seminar the author would try to analyze the experiences of other countries and understand the possible outcome of FDI in retail for India.

About the Author

Dr Pradip Kumar Biswas did his M. Phil. and Ph. D. from Jawaharlal Nehru University, New Delhi. He worked in the areas of MSMEs, informal sectors, retail sector, bio-energy, FDI, R&D and innovations and published articles in international and national journals and in edited books. He has been teaching in the College of Vocational Studies, Delhi University, for more than twenty years. He also worked as Post-Doctoral Fellow at UTAD, Portugal, and as Scientist at CSIR-NISTADS, New Delhi.
