Faculty Positions

Regular Faculty

The regular tenure-track faculty positions will be at all levels – Lecturer (Assistant Professor), Reader (Associate Professor) and Professor. Regular faculty is expected to engage in teaching, research, outreach (extension) as well as take on some organizational and administrative responsibilities. The appointments of regular faculty will ordinarily be made concurrently or jointly to more than one School or Centre. The eligibility criteria and pay scales for regular faculty positions are those prescribed by the University Grants Commission. The reservation policy of the University will be at par with other universities established by the Government of Delhi. Incentives like on-campus (or leased) accommodation and other benefits including an initiation research grant (including research assistantships), travel support, book grant and membership of professional societies are being considered. Personal benefits such as medical/LTC at par with other universities are also being worked out. Some innovative programs are being planned to help faculty improve their compensation as well as their research programmes. These include Faculty Research Fellowships, summer assignments within the University as well as in other institutions, consultancy, mentoring by quality faculty from internationally reputed institutions, etc.

Adjunct Faculty

The University plans to work with Adjunct Faculty comprising academicians, researchers, professionals and practitioners. The adjunct faculty will participate in teaching, supervision of students’ work including research, project and field work and limited academic administration. Adjunct faculty will be expected to offer a full course, or be part of a course team, for a full semester.

Visiting Faculty

The University plans to invite Visiting Professors and Visiting Fellows for short and medium terms as well as for a full semester or more.
