Admission Procedure
Eligibility: A bachelor’s degree in any discipline with 55% marks (or equivalent grade) from a recognised university. Relaxation of 5% in eligibility criterion will be given to candidates belonging to any one or more of the following categories:
a. SC, ST
b. Postgraduates from a recognized university with 50% (or equivalent grades)
c. Those with work experience of at least one year in a relevant work situation1. 35 Students will be admitted to each of the above M.A. programmes in 2009-2010.
2. If result is awaited, the proof of having qualified must be produced at the time of admission
3. Admission will be made according to the procedures and guidelines of the University
4. Bulletin of Information and application forms will be available between 22 June 2009 and
20 July 2009 on all working days at the University office from 10:00 am to 4:00 pm for Rs. 50. These can also be purchased at
select branches of Canara Bank in Delhi.

Application forms can also be downloaded from the website of the University. There will be no provision for online submission. Filled-in application forms will have to be submitted along with a bank draft of Rs 300/- for each M.A. programme. For SC/ST candidates the application forms will have to be submitted along with a bank draft of Rs.100 for each M.A. programme. The bank draft should be made in favour of ‘Ambedkar University, Delhi’. The bank draft should be made from a
nationalised bank only. Please write your name and contact telephone number on the back of the bank draft.
6. The filled-in application can be submitted by hand at the University Office or at select branches of Canara Bank in Delhi. The list of the branches will be put up on the University website.
7. The last date for submission of applications is Monday 20 July 2009, 4: 00 pm. Those applying by post must ensure that their application along with enclosures reaches well in time. The University shall not be responsible for any delay on the part of the postal department. Applications will not be entertained after the due date.
8. The decision of the Admission Committee will be final.
9. The jurisdiction of any dispute will be limited to the National Capital Territory of Delhi.
10. Candidates must check the websites and / or the notice boards of the University for the dates, time, venue and the list of candidates called for the Written Test and Interview. These will be available from the
22 July 2009. No individual intimation will be sent. The Written Test and Interview will be conducted on 24, 25, 26 and 27 July 2009. The exact schedule will be put up on the website.
11. The Written Test will be based on study material which will be put up on the website by 15 July 2009.
12. Successful candidates will be required to submit attested copies of character certificate from the head of the institution last attended, certificate of date of birth, degree or provisional certificate of the last examination passed, and statement of marks, as also certificates of belonging to a reserved category, where applicable. They will also be required to bring their original certificates for verification at the time of admission.
13. Admissions will be made in accordance with the reservation policies of the Government of NCT of Delhi in respect of various social groups and other categories as applicable to institutions of higher education. Applicants claiming the benefit of reservations will have to produce the requisite certificates from the competent authorities.
14. A large number of Fee Waivers (Full as well as Partial) and Scholarships are available, The application form for these will be put up on the website for downloading from 15 July 2009. A candidate who wants to apply for Fee Waivers and/or Scholarships may fill in this form and submit it at the time of
the Written Test.

Important points to be noted:
1. Candidates
are requested to keep checking the University website for any
changes that may take place in the timings or schedule. Check for
display of roll number and test centre on the University website or the
University Notice Board. No personal intimation will be sent
regarding the date, venue and time of the test.
2. Study material (a
few essays) for the Written Test and interviews would be put up on
the website. Candidates are advised to keep checking the website

Forms are to be submitted with the bank drafts. The draft should be
drawn in favour of ‘Ambedkar University, Delhi’ payable at New
Delhi, from a nationalised bank. Forms without draft(s) will not be
accepted. A candidate who applies for one M.A. programme is required
to enclose a draft of Rs.300, for two programmes Rs.600 and for
three programmes Rs.900 (Rs.100, Rs.200 and Rs.300 for SC and ST
candidates).
