Elective Courses

Each student will choose three courses out of the basket of courses on offer. Below is a suggestive list of electives that have been offered in the past or are being currently developed:

·         Peace, Conflict, and Development

·         Labour Movements, Social Movements, and Development

·         Poverty and Sustainable Livelihoods

·         Urban Development and Human Ecology

·         Enterprise and Society

·         Gender, Work, and Development

Students have the option to enroll in electives offered by other schools at AUD, in consultation with programme faculty.

Summer Internship

The internship will be scheduled during the summer between semesters 2 and 3. This is meant to be an opportunity to bridge theory and practice. Each student will be attached to an organization or to research teams at AUD to work on a problem related to development.

Dissertation

Each student will take up a research project at the beginning of semester 3. The project will lead to a dissertation which will be submitted during the semester 4.
